At Oldfield, we believe that Physical Education is key to supporting our children’s physical health, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. Our PE curriculum is inclusive, active, and designed to inspire a lifelong love of sport, movement, and healthy living.

From our youngest learners in EYFS through to Year 6, pupils develop essential movement skills alongside important personal qualities like teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Every child takes part in high-quality PE each week, exploring a wide range of sports and physical activities that promote fitness, confidence, and cooperation.

We make the most of our beautiful rural setting to take learning outdoors whenever possible and enrich our offer with exciting whole-school events such as the Sports Day.

We also build strong links with local sports clubs, coaches, and secondary schools, providing pupils with wider opportunities to try new sports, develop their talents, and enjoy a smooth transition to the next stage of their education.

Through PE, we aim to help every child develop healthy habits, strong values, and a positive attitude toward physical activity—both now and for life.
