A reminder to parents that Oldfield is a healthy School and it is our responsibility to promote healthy eating to the children. Our school dinners are nutritionally balanced and therefore provide a healthy lunch. Packed lunches can be healthy too: they should consist of 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbohydrate and 1/3 fruit & veg. We discourage chocolate and sweets in packed lunches.
- Unless the children are asked to bring something to school, we ask that parents do not allow their children to bring personal items/toys into school including mobile phones.
- It would be really helpful, if, when letters are sent out to parents that any replies are returned immediately. It makes for a lot of work, chasing up replies, re-sending letters etc.
- Dogs/animals are not allowed on school premises for Health & Safety reasons.
- We politely request that parents and children do not drop litter on Oldfield Lane.
The school has an emergency plan, which includes having a place of safety. Our nominated place is The Grouse Inn.
SCHOOL DINNERS are now £8.00 per week, payable weekly, monthly or termly by cash or cheque. Cheques to be made out to Bradford Council and kept separate from any other money sent to school. We have a supply of dinner envelopes in school, please ask. May I remind parents that children are not allowed to change their meal preference unless written notice is given to the school at the end of each ½ term.
DAILY ATTENDANCE/BREAKFAST CLUB AND ENTRY TO SCHOOL
Please note that school starts promptly at 9.00am each day and finishes at 3.15pm. It is very important that you contact school if you and your child are going to be late or absent and that your child is collected on time at the end of the day. Unfortunately we do not have the staff available to supervise children after school.
Our Breakfast Club is available from 8.15pm at a cost of £2 per child per day. Please enter school by the front door. School is open to all children from 8.50am. If your child arrives after 9.00am they must enter school by the side visitor entrance and inform the office of their arrival.
All new starters to school are given a hard copy of the school prospectus.
PARKING is always an issue at Oldfield. Highway Code rule no.238 ‘You must not wait or park on yellow zig zags’. Please DO NOT PARK on the zig zags or the disabled parking space unless you have a valid disabled sticker. Please park responsibly and be aware of our neighbours. We politely request staff and parents to avoid parking on the white lines as it hinders access for our neighbours.
CallParents is the text messaging system we use to inform parents by text or email in case of emergency. Please ensure that you keep the school informed of any change of telephone numbers.
HOLIDAY DATES are available on the school website and we also have issued handy wallet sized cards. If you would like any more, please ask in the office. Holiday dates for 2016/17 are now on the school’s website.
